Every tool below keeps its project guidance in a file. Gloo Code can load most of them directly, and /init can read the rest and draft an AGENTS.md for you.
When in doubt, open your project in Gloo Code and run /init. It reads AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, .cursor/rules/, .cursorrules, and .github/copilot-instructions.md, and builds an AGENTS.md for you to review.

Cursor

Your rules live in .cursor/rules/ (or the older .cursorrules file).
1

Open the project in Gloo Code

Run gloocode in the project folder.
2

Run /init

Gloo Code reads your Cursor rules and drafts an AGENTS.md.
3

Review and commit

Edit the draft until it says what you want, then commit it.

Aider

If you keep conventions in a file such as CONVENTIONS.md, list it in a gloocode.json at the project root.
gloocode.json
You can also paste the contents into your AGENTS.md.

Cline

Your rules live in .clinerules/ or .cline/rules/, depending on your project. Add the one you use under instructions in gloocode.json.
gloocode.json
For a project that uses .cline/rules/, use .cline/rules/*.md instead. If you keep shared guidance in AGENTS.md, Gloo Code reads that file as it is.

Your personal settings

For settings that apply to every project, place a gloocode.json in ~/.config/gloocode/.

GitHub Copilot

If your repository has .github/copilot-instructions.md, run /init and Gloo Code reads it while drafting your AGENTS.md.
