Adding a Payment Method

Free Plan users can upgrade to Pay-as-you-go by adding a payment method. Follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to the Studio Billing page
  2. Go to the Payment Methods tab
  3. Click Add payment method
  4. Enter your credit card details
  5. Save your changes
Adding a payment method automatically upgrades you from the Free Plan to the Pay-as-you-go plan, giving you immediate API access.
Once your payment method is added, you can start using the API and monitoring your usage in the API Usage dashboard.

Setting Spend Limits (Pay-as-you-go)

Pay-as-you-go accounts have weekly spend limits to help you control costs. Here’s what you need to know: Default Limit: If you don’t set a custom limit, your account defaults to $100/week. Maximum Limit: The maximum weekly spend limit is $100. How to Modify:
  1. Go to the Studio Billing page
  2. Click Usage Limits
  3. Adjust your weekly limit (up to $100)
  4. Save your changes
When you reach your weekly spend limit, API access will be paused until the limit resets. Plan accordingly for production applications.
Enterprise accounts manage spend limits through service agreements, not the Studio UI. Contact your account manager to adjust limits.

Enterprise plans unlock the full power of Gloo AI, including:
  • Data Engine: Ingest and manage your organization’s content
  • Search: Implement intelligent search across your data
  • Item Recommendations API: Build personalized recommendation systems
  • Extended Analytics: Track ingestion metrics and organization-level data
  • Monthly Invoicing: Simplified billing with monthly invoices

  • Visit our pricing page and click Contact enterprise sales
  • Click the upgrade CTA when you hit your spend limit in the Studio
  • Navigate to the Studio Billing page and click Upgrade to Enterprise

Managing Invoices (Enterprise)

Enterprise accounts receive monthly invoices based on their service agreement. Invoices include:
  • API usage (requests and tokens)
  • Feature access (Data Engine, Search, Item APIs)
  • Any custom services or add-ons
Invoices are sent to your designated billing contact at the end of each billing period. For questions about your invoice, contact your account manager.
Enterprise invoices include detailed usage breakdowns. You can also monitor real-time usage in the API Usage dashboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I exceed my spend limit? For Pay-as-you-go accounts, API access is paused when you reach your weekly limit. Access automatically resumes when the limit resets. You’ll receive notifications as you approach your limit. Can I change my plan?
  • Free to Pay-as-you-go: Add a payment method at any time
  • Pay-as-you-go to Enterprise: Contact sales to upgrade
  • Downgrade: Contact support to discuss your options
How do I cancel my Pay-as-you-go plan? To cancel, remove your payment method from the Studio Billing page. Your account will revert to the Free Plan. Note that this will disable API access. What payment methods are accepted? We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) and Apple Pay for Pay-as-you-go accounts. Enterprise accounts are invoiced monthly and can arrange payment terms with our billing team.
